Q: What if I don’t have Korean software on my computer? Can I read the English to Korean translations that you send me back? A: In most cases, if the document is sent to you via e-mail as an attachment, you should be able to open, read, and print the document. In cases where this is not possible, the translated document will need to be sent to you via postal mail.
Q: Can you send e-mails and letters to Korea for me? A: No. Presently, Korean Adoption Translation is a translation and interpretation service only. We strongly urge you to contact an adoption agency (preferably the one through which the adoption was done) and use post adoptive services to act as an intermediary for you with the Korean agency/institution. If the agency through which you placed/were placed does not provide post-adoption services with agencies in Korea, ask them to refer you to another agency which does.
Q: What if I lose a letter and later want to come back and get a copy of it from you? Do you keep all of our translated letters on file and is there a cost for this? A: At your request, we can keep all translated letters on file for one year. Due to privacy concerns, however, if you do not request that we do this, written translations will be destroyed. There is no cost to request that we send you a copy of a previous translation via e-mail.
Q: I'm already in direct contact with my birth family and do not use an agency. Can you help me in this situation as well? A: Absolutely. We are happy you are able to be in direct contact and would like to help you maintain this relationship. We would be happy to help you get updated addresses and phone numbers and of course, translate and interpret per our regularly provided services. However, written correspondence will need to be sent by you directly not by Korean Adoption Translation. |
